In addition to Sunday morning study, adults have times to gather and continue their learning:
Sunday School is held weekly for adults at 8:45 AM.
The women have a Wednesday 11:30 AM Bible Study and prayer time. Bible Study books dealing with worship, life of simplicity, and looking over the events of Holy Week. Another study has dealt with Beth Moore Bible Studies.
Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. all adults are invited to gather for studying a book of the Bible.
All of the study groups meet at the church unless otherwise indicated. Periodically we also have other small groups that meet in homes for studies concerning marriage relationships, finances and growing in the faith.
Spiritual Counseling services are gladly offered by the church for those in need as Pastor Darren’s time allows. Pastor Darren Stroh has many years in the counseling ministry field and holds degrees in the counseling field. He is a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor with the American Association of Christian Counselors as well. Pastor Stroh’s approach to counseling is to help individuals through understanding themselves and the Scriptures. “This is not preaching nor is it mental health counseling,” Pastor Darren says. “I am here to listen and help you find the answers you seek, rather than give you the answers.” Counseling is a free ministry provided by Pastor Darren in our community, regardless of what your faith history is. “The goal is not to get you to change your mind, but to help you through the struggles you face today.” - Pastor Darren
Pastor Darren is experienced in individual counseling, couples counseling, financial counseling, parenting coaching, and pre-engagement/pre-marital counseling as well. He is willing to provide the pre-engagement or pre-marital counseling even for those who have other officiants planned if they want. A letter of completion of premarital counseling can be written to any officiant with the written permission of those who sought premarital counseling. All spiritual counseling provided is considered confidential as per Colorado Statute: Title 13, Article 90, Part 1, § 13-90-107(1)(c).
Fellowship
One thing we Baptists love to do is eat! Our monthly business meetings are preceded with a meal, whether covered dish or by a theme of BBQ, Mexican, Italian, salads or even just desserts. We might even have a cookout or ice cream social just for fellowship! Joining together over food is always a great way to get to know one another better and strengthen our ties as a family!
Horn Creek Lodge church retreat is an event that was reinstituted in January of 2024! This three-day event was well attended and created fun and exciting ways to engage with each other! From old to young everyone connected and grew closer to Christ and each other!
