First Baptist Church

Welcome!

Welcome to the First Baptist Church of Lamar, Colorado. Our church has been through a lot in its 110 years. We continue to focus on serving Jesus Christ. Our belief is that everyone is important to the Lord and that we are His Instruments to share the Gospel. We know we come to Jesus just as we are but that we cannot stay that way. So the Lord is always at work on us to shape us to be like Christ.

Here at First we also emphasize the study of Scripture individually and together. To that end we encourage daily devotions. We also have Sunday school for all ages at 8:45am. Wednesday evening study is at 6:30pm. Men gather for study on Saturday mornings at 7am. Women meet together at 11:30am on Wednesdays. During the school year we also have small group studies that have dealt with Financial Peace University, Fireproof, Experiencing God, witnessing, and books of the Bible.

Our worship on Sunday mornings begins at 10am. We celebrate our Lord through praise songs and hymns, sharing concerns and praises at prayer, and having a time with the children. During the school year our choir shares.

We are a people who love the Lord, love to laugh, and take seriously mission work locally, nationally and around the world.

I hope you enjoy taking a look at the website. When you are in Lamar, please join us for study or worship. If a job moves you to the area we hope you will find First Baptist to be your church family.
May the Lord bless you.
